One day in junior high, I went to the movies. I sat with friends behind a row of boys from our class. The boy in front of me turned around and planted a kiss on me.

When I got home, my parents asked me about the movie. I drew a blank. I couldn’t remember anything after the kiss.

My boyfriend of three weeks was helping my roommate and me move back to college for our senior year.
